Jackets (Suspention) - oil on canvas, 100x100cm, 2017

I saw that jacket in a painting and I wanted to somehow exaggerate it to find out where it would take me. I changed its colour, repeated it, and placed it over that background.
Our mechanism of perception recognises the texture of the fabric as such. So in this sense the image is realistic and feels familiar at first sight.
At the same time it provides contradictory information, giving it an uncanny quality: the “light” which is so realistic, comes from 4 different angles at once without affecting the other parts, added to the fact that there is a sort of continuity between the volumes.
Perhaps it gives the impression of  visualising 4 realities at once.
